Landfill Borehole Lining Systems
Stuart Well Services is able to supply a range of well-linings for site investigations, dewatering wells, leachate abstraction wells, water abstraction wells, soakaways and gas abstraction wells.
All materials are manufactured to meet the requirements of: ISO9001:1994 by Jain Irrigation S Limited.
Pipes are male-female threaded in lengths of 1 and 3 metres.

Methane Gas Venting Stacks
- Methane gas venting is actively undertaken by the installation of gas venting stacks which will rotate in wind speeds as low as three kilometres per hour
- Ventilation rates in excess of 1500 litres per minute are typically achieved with average wind speed of 16 kilometres per hour
- The rotating cowl is available in two sizes, one suitable for pipes up to 150mm diameter (model no. RC150) and for pipes up to 200mm (model no. RC200 - see table below)

Flux Boxes
Monitoring landfill gas surface emissions
The objective of a flux box survey is to quantify the total releases of methane from the surveyed area. This may identify places where the gas flux through the cap exceeds an emission standard set by the regulator and so will initiate further remedial work, for IPPC compliance.
A passive flux box consists of an enclosure of known volume, with two ports fitted to the upper surface.
The inlet port is used for pressure equilibration and the outlet port for obtaining samples.
This arrangements facilitates the sampling of gases without the disturbing the pressure within the flux box.
The methane concentration inside the box is analysed using a gas analyser (not supplied).
The passive flux box is manufactured from white polyethylene (as recommended by the Environment Agency) to reduce thermal differentials between the inside and the outside of the box in warm weather.
The box is lightweight, less than 10 Kg and easy for site personnel to carry a set of flux boxes.
